Tobacco Program & Training Manager
Nicole is a Certified Tobacco Cessation Specialist (CTTS) and serves as the Tobacco Program Manager at Gulfcoast South AHEC. Nicole is passionate about assisting tobacco users to quit successfully and educating healthcare providers to address tobacco use among patients. She provides cessation services primarily in Manatee and DeSoto Counties as well as various behavioral health sites in GSAHEC’s service area. Nicole is also a member of several community groups and partnerships working hard to achieve a Tobacco Free Florida.
Before her role with GSAHEC, Nicole worked with Healthy Start Manatee and has extensive experience in the child welfare arena. Since obtaining her MA in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2013, Nicole has worked as a counselor for an employee assistance program and has completed an internship in substance abuse counseling at First Step of Sarasota.
When Nicole is not providing tobacco education and cessation services, she can be found spending time with her family outdoors or relaxing with a great book.
